What to Expect
Whether you have been going to church all your life, or you have never been, you are welcome at New Hope! If you have never been to a worship service before, we want to help you as you get acquainted with Christian worship.
Stuff you may like to know…
We Rent Space
We rent space from All Saints Lutheran Church, so don’t be surprised to see their sign out front. Yes, you are at the right place. When you come through the door, a greeter will greet you, offer you a program and communication card, help you find a seat, and answer any questions you may have. Restrooms are downstairs. Music will be playing, come in and make yourself comfortable.
Dress casually and comfortably. There is no dress code; we just want you to feel relaxed.
We Care About Families
Our Children’s Church–New Hope Kids–is an exciting way for your child (age 0-12) to learn about the love of God! New Hope Kids is offered EVERY SUNDAY at 4:15pm (Children’s church is not offered at the 6:00pm service). While the adults worship upstairs in the sanctuary, your kids will be learning about God in an age-appropriate setting with caring and competent teachers. They will sing, play games, do crafts, have a snack, and learn the Bible! A volunteer at the front door will help you register your child. (more info here)
How Long We Meet
A typical service lasts about 75 minutes, and includes singing, greeting, preaching, prayer and response. We usually observe the Lord’s Supper (Communion) on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Feel free to join in singing when you’re comfortable, or you can just listen. The sermons come from the Bible, and we proclaim the good news that Jesus is King.
Free snacks and drinks are served from 5:30pm-6:00pm. The idea is that attendees of the 4:15pm service will linger after the service, and attendees of the 6:00pm service will come early and enjoy food and fellowship.
A Gift for You
Please fill out the communication card from the program, and exchange it for a free gift! THANKS!
When you are a guest somewhere it’s easy to feel awkward or nervous, but just remember that everybody at New Hope was once a first-time guest! We think you will find warm hospitality and some real DOWN TO EARTH folks. We try not to take ourselves too seriously. See you next Sunday!
